I'm not new to vacuum insulated bottles/jars - I have an Ozark Trail 30 ounce jar that I've used for years. My biggest issue with this is that the lid doesn't close - when I take it on a trip I can't fill it completely IF the car I'm in has cup holders. Most of my personal cars don't. I have a small bottle to toss on the seat for this, but wanted something bigger, better and with a straw. When I go to car shows, I quickly run out of water from a small bottle. I recently started looking at the H2O bottle and couldn't tell any real difference between it and other companies' more expensive bottles. Some others offer 3 caps - I really only need a straw cap but I love that the H2O bottle comes with a hard stainless steel cap while others are plastic. I also wanted a "true blue" bottle as it fits two of my cars that I often take to car events. Not that it matters, but it helps. I was a bit concerned when I saw/felt the straw cover was leaking. It doesn't close easily. Can't tell for sure if the little plastic stopper blocked the vent, but with the bottle full of water there was no leak when held upside down. I also like the feel of the straw lid - it is rubber coated on the outside and the inside of the handle/hinge is also rubber coated. The casting quality of the lid could be better, but it does the job - it doesn't flow. I went ahead and coated the bottom of the bottle with plastid so it had a softer surface to sit on and protected the powder coating from impact. A rubber bottle buffer might be a better choice, but I don't plan on throwing it around. Also the design of the handle is a plus for me - I can carry the bottle with one finger while carrying other things with my hands even when the bottle is full. Much more comfortable than my glass. Overall I'm happy with my purchase, especially for the price - it's a really good, beautiful thing. I don't expect any problems with this.
