By far the best aftermarket purchase I have ever made for my car

This is easily the best purchase I have ever made for my child's upgrade. I learned pole riding in my parents' cars and have been pole riding in my cars since the 1990's. So at first I was a little skeptical that a simple weighted handle would greatly improve my riding experience. But after trying the weighted stick I can honestly say that shifting is absurdly smooth and easy, and I'm already well trained to shift smoothly. The grip is also great and has a nice enough surface when I squeeze it with my hand, I don't need driving gloves. That being said, if you're in a state like Texas, I highly recommend choosing white over black; the button is made of metal, and after hours in the hot summer sun in a closed car you can burn your hand on the black metal. I can say it was quite chilly in the morning and the pen was cold too - so maybe a black pen in the great frosty north? (I'll update this in the summer when I see how the white behaves in the heat). Installation was easy enough, except it took a bit of trial and error to get the knob in the right position so that the gear layout was completely horizontal and the knob was also fully screwed in. The supplied adapter was also of poor quality - could not be screwed flush and wanted to stand at an angle (thread problem?). Rather than installing it manually, I had to tighten it with a wrench and the pressure/torque from the jaws of the pliers caused tiny bits of metal to dislodge from the adapter. The pen itself is very high quality. , and it seems to fit perfectly, even if the adapter isn't that impressive. If you ride a stick and haven't tried a weighted shift knob, buy one. You will not regret it.
