I teach elementary arts and use computers a lot, so I needed something to protect my computer and keyboard. If we damage the computer in any way, we will have to pay a $350 fine, so I want to take as many preventive measures as possible. I recently received a "new to me" older MacBook Pro for my class. It will take me some time to get used to the rubberized keyboard surface. Now that my hands are covered in paint or clay, I can type without worrying about the keys getting dirty or dust getting in between. I can also easily take it off when I have to type a lot. The top and bottom covers are made of nice, durable plastic that protects the surface from scratches. Attaches easily and securely. The kit also included 4 additional rubber bumpers. I went for the red lid and it has a matte finish that doesn't bother me. I'm going to put a sticker on the top cover that sticks easily to the surface. The lid is worth it. Please make sure it fits your computer before purchasing. I made the mistake of ordering one that doesn't fit me and it costs more to ship than to buy. Your computer's model number is located in lowercase on the bottom of your computer.
