I like that it is open source, which makes development easy to do yourself or with your team of choice without paying huge licensing fees up front (as in some other solutions). It's also relatively new so there are not many options out yet if you want something more mature than this one but still free/open-source software! My primary use case right now has been as an alternative data store option when using AWS DynamoDB was too expensive - though they have recently announced support at $0 per month!! That will be very helpful given our usage model where we need fast access across multiple clients & devices within minutes timeframes from ingesting sensor readings all day long through ingestion into S3 buckets then finally loading onto HBase via HDFS file system.
