I first bought this gel to use on my cheeks and neck area so I can see exactly what I'm shaving so I don't shave my beard hairs. I used regular shaving cream which made it difficult to see what I was doing and as a result my beard was slowly shrinking after each shave. I chose this particular product based on the reviews and because it was available for same shipping. Right after I received it, I tried it and was amazed at how smooth my face became. Despite the dull blade, my shave was smoother than any other product I've ever used and I had no irritation after use. Later I decided to try and see how he shaves his head. It seemed a bit odd at first as it remains transparent and is thin enough to make it feel like nothing is there. After the first run, I found that the new badger hair brush I'd bought and only used once would now be sitting in my desk drawer, along with an almost unused tube of Italian shaving cream. The gel looks like green goo in a container but when applied to the skin the skin is completely clear and has a nice clean lime scent. Although it contains shaving oil it is not greasy at all and rinses my razor off easily. Another advantage is that no water or similar is needed, making the process faster and less messy. It also doesn't leave a residue in my sink like the Italian ones. Needless to say I am very glad I found this material.
