With the exception of FB and Whatsapp calls, this device is almost useless compared to the Echo Show. I can only send or stream photos, no videos. The apps it can use are smaller than the Echo Show. Like the show, you can't stream Netflix, but at least the show can stream top-notch video. You cannot transfer anything with the portal. I also don't like that the screen turns off completely when not in use because I placed it where I want the watch to be. The echo show goes to a dark screen and displays the time. The portal has no plus. It just goes completely black. What a waste of time. I leave it now because I like the slideshow effect. I uploaded a bunch of photos and now I love what I call a live photo frame that transitions from one to the next. So basically it's now a $250 photo frame. Portal Plus can be greatly improved if you can actually do things with the screen. There's only one or two things you can do now. What a waste. I hate that I can't even upload a video from my phone because even Shaw lets you do it. It would be better to be able to do this on this big screen. Useless. EDIT 1: Just tried calling WhatsApp. Unfortunately this was extremely disappointing. The video quality was great. The other person hears and sees me perfectly. But the quality of the sound that came to me kept changing. Thus, this device cannot even do what it is advertised for. It's easier just using the phone than yelling what? the? the?
