I Am Legend is a classic horror story. Some consider it a classic horror story. The influence of great contemporary horror authors like Stephen King will stay with you forever. I still vividly remember the moment I started and finished this book almost 10 years ago. I sat with a shotgun while my dad drove us home from a vacation in Michigan. The air conditioning was too high and I was freezing, but I couldn't take my eyes off the story long enough to ask him to turn it off. I was glad I could find a cover for this book that wasn't written by Will Smith. As many people know there have been 3 or 4 movies made based on this story over the years. A word of warning, this is unlike a Will Smith film. If the film had been a standalone film with a different title, I would have liked it better. As an adaptation of the book, the film has serious flaws. Differences like the fact that vampires can talk make this story more compelling as the last human on earth is not alone. This is one of my favorite books of all time. Pros: If you've seen the movie, you can still read the book and be amazed. Very different if you don't know the twists and turns. Excellent text. This book made me want to be a writer when I was little. I can't say too much because I don't want to give anything away. Cons: Be sure to buy the right copy if you're avoiding a Will Smith film. cover print. The sticker on the back of my book was so sticky that now after I removed it my book sticks to everything. That's my biggest complaint, folks. The spine is a bit sticky. Serious. Buy this!
