Fill the tank with water and it's ready to go. The initial charge of the battery took about 4 hours and I used it every night for 4 weeks on a single charge. The device is small and sometimes I have to use both hands to use it. The positions of the mode buttons are such that unintentional mode changes will occur. As soon as the start button is pressed, the device pumps water. Perhaps the stop feature will help stop the user from spraying water in the bathroom if it's not already aimed at your teeth. Despite these small weaknesses, the device does its job well.
