Did the job though. - Car electronics

3 stars because it also works on rough terrain. Lost two stars due to some firmware issues and some missing features. First of all it was a temporary installation as the truck was rented so the power cables were plugged into a 12 volt plug. This made it easy to switch the power needed for this trip. The cameras themselves feel solid, nice and compact. The plugs are good, but I would choose a waterproof plug myself. No problems from the camera side.1. Camera 2 (rear camera) would start to freeze and then lose signal completely. Power reset a few times to fix it. Camera 1 never had an issue, but I didn't get a chance to swap cameras 1 and 2 to see if it was a camera or a device. 2. The device may have damaged the SD card during recording, so it needed reformatting about 1-2 times a day on the trip, so say goodbye to any video you wanted to save.3. The firmware isn't written to match the control buttons, so identifying the "Confirm" and "Cancel" buttons and navigating the menus is a guessing game. What You Need: Backlit buttons so you can see them at night while switching day/night modes. They currently have to change the brightness as ambient light conditions change (again, good luck if you know which button does what in the menu) and tested before product release. At the moment the firmware is not ready for release.
