I bought this speaker to replace the one that broke when I tripped over the USB cable and dropped it on the floor. I was very upset because this $20 bluetooth speaker had surprisingly good sound quality. Looking for a good replacement I settled on this speaker which is about twice the price but has a lot more bells and whistles. I'm currently charging my phone using the built-in battery while writing this review. I am very happy with the fact that my speaker charges my phone. This speaker can also play files from an SD card. I tested it and it works great. You don't have to restart every song every time you turn off the speaker. It picks up where you left off, which is nice. I was a bit disheartened by the fact that it uses a USB-C port for charging. All my other devices are still micro USB, so I use the same cable to charge all my devices. A bit inconvenient is that I now have to connect a second cable to charge just this speaker. Unfortunately, when it comes to sound quality, it is nowhere near as good as my cheaper Bluetooth speaker. The sound when playing music, no matter which equalizer mode I choose, sounds muffled. None of the tones are crisp and clear. I'm by no means a music lover and I can even say that the sound isn't very good. It may sound good and I was just spoiled by my old speaker. Also, a strange whistling or buzzing sound can be heard every time the sounds start or stop playing. It's distracting and makes it difficult to enjoy what you're listening to when there's a lot of pauses. It's like it picks up speed every time it starts playing audio and then slows down when the audio stops. The big disadvantage is that when listening to audio books or speech, the sound keeps cutting out. Each time there is a pause while speaking, the speaker shuts down and takes a second to turn back on when the person starts speaking again. So it's impossible to hear the spoken word with this speaker because you keep missing the beginning of a sentence. This is a big disappointment because I recently started listening to audiobooks in bed and now I need to find another way to do it. In general, the speaker is good. It gets super loud. The power supply is a big plus. It's really plug and play. There were no problems setting it up or figuring out how to use it. I didn't have to use the manual. It just doesn't sound as good as my old speaker, you can't hear spoken words through it and the odd up and down noises in the silence are off-putting. Would I buy it again? no will i return it no
