First of all these are NOT noise canceling hybrid headphones. This is soundproofing. I had to intercept this as the NC requires a power source (battery) to function. A power source was not mentioned in the letter or in the photos. In terms of sound which is purely subjective they are decent considering the reduced price I got. Using FLAC or WAV codecs improves the quality of the music. Most instruments are clear and relatively accurate. Higher frequencies tend to be brighter than lower frequencies. The weird thing is that when I used the MP3 player's EQ setting and set all frequencies to the same level above flat, it sounded more balanced to me. Again, everything is subjective as everything is based on my listening preferences. If someone likes bass these aren't the headphones for you, but for me the bass is more accurate and has a "thickness" that I like and prefer. It's not boom.
