Review on Maxell Cassette VHS C Adapter 290060 by Chris Long

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Worked great for me!

The Markm review pretty much sums it up. I'm really surprised that anyone can screw things up. First open the housing door completely. Then insert the tape, making sure the pins inside are properly seated in your smaller cartridge (make sure the flap on the smaller tape side is fully flipped up). If done correctly, closing the door will cause these racks to pull the tape from the smaller cartridge toward the larger edge of the adapter. Do not move the adapter sliding door too quickly - be careful (so as not to damage the gears). It's easy, it works, it's inexpensive - you just have to know what you're doing! I used to have a Digital Concepts motorized adapter that worked great for me, but reading the reviews on the Revain seems to be the same model that got me thinking. The only visible difference between what I had and what was listed was that the sticker on the top of my device was blue and yellow instead of red and yellow (but it worked fine until I crawled inside). The beetle did not die.) . Anyway, I transferred six small VHS-C cassettes to my computer using the Maxell adapter and had no problems - highly recommend.

Pros
  • Great build
Cons
  • Expensive
