When it comes to personal care products, I'm more of an olfactory type. I have used Viking Revolution's Beard Oil Conditioner in the past and have been very happy with it. My beard has been growing for a while and I need something to help me style it so I thought it might be worth a try. Real sandalwood scent. Even after receiving and opening it, I found the scent to be faint but pleasant. After a week of use I started to understand what the reviews were saying. The sandalwood smell is almost gone after the first few uses, the lingering smell is not "rotten" as some describe it. It's not even necessarily uncomfortable, but it's not what I was hoping for. It reminds me of the lanolin that old dairy farmers use for cow's milk, an organic musky smell. I'd be interested to know what their other flavors are like, the balm itself is pretty decent if a bit greasy and it's inexpensive enough to substitute with no problem.
