Review on πŸ“· Pioneer 300 Pocket Post-Bound Leatherette Photo Album for 4x6 Prints - Various Color Options by Amy Mcleod

Very disappointed with how much the quality has gone down

I use Pioneer albums for my family photo albums, starting with the ones Mom bought decades ago. Since we already had a few I stuck with the brand/style to be consistent. What has not been constant is the quality. The photo sides are 1 cm longer (annoying, but not a big problem). The glue on the bottom of the sleeves in the bottom row is VERY easy to tear, and the extra pages are expensive. The screws slip through the ends of the book after a few uses (thankfully they include plastic washers). The most annoying thing is that I use blue tape to align the title letters on the cover and it leaves tape residue after a day or two. NONE of the other albums did, even when the cassette was on for days. All of this has me worried about how well it will hold up for years. I'm really upset because the rest of the album is great. The layout is handy for large stacks of photos, and I love that you can use screws of different lengths in the pins to ensure a tight fit.

Pros
  • Originally holds 300 photos up to 4 x 6 inches, plus screw binding expands for unlimited refills (style #46-MP)
Cons
  • New competitors are here
