The price is absolutely right for this pair of lanterns. They're bright, reasonably solid, and light weight. So far I've used each one for maybe a dozen hours just to see how they operate, and there have been no problems. There are two characteristics that each knocked off a half star, leaving a solid four.First, the carry handles don't have an in-built way to keep them together. While the design is nifty, folding upward from both sides, the shape of the top prevents the lantern from staying put unless you use a string or similar to bind them together. It's possible I'm not using them correctly, but without bending the handles a bit, I can't seem to get them to overlap enough to create a useful hanging method.Second, the fit of the plastic pieces is not quite clean enough to make the top slide out and back down easily. I'm comparing this to similar designs cut from aluminum, which may not be fair. However, it does mean I was not able to easily open or adjust them with one hand on a flat surface.Putting those concerns aside, the lamps are sufficiently bright for a small camping area, and give off nice, even lighting. They are almost too bright for a picnic table because the throw is horizontal. That's no reason to fault them, though. Either raise them overhead or just be a little careful with placement.These are definitely going in the evacuation kit (we live in a fire hazard area), and I'm planning on another set for emergency home lighting / family camping.
