Always wanted to try this but was a little nervous about the price. Luckily, in exchange for my honest review, I was able to get one at a discount. I have the 15lb Navy version. The outer shell is very soft, which is one of my requirements for blankets. I wouldn't say it's the Navy; it was more of an indicolite or muted royal blue. Very nice color. The weighted part has small loops that you can tie a cover for. I was surprised at how difficult it was to maneuver. I wanted to do a good test so I decided to lay down on the couch with him. I noticed how cozy and warm. It was great because it's still cold here. Without strong air conditioning, it can get too hot in summer. I was also surprised at how quickly I "settled down" and felt like I wanted to take a nap. I think this will be my favorite sleeping blanket. I just felt really good. I probably won't sleep with him at night because I sleep hot. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and am considering buying the smallest weight to help my dog through the storm.
