I needed a large bag for my old 17 inch HP dv7 laptop and various gadgets and this bag fitted perfectly. I was about to buy a Swiss Gear bag but stumbled across this Kroser bag as a lightning deal and I'm very happy to say I have no regrets with my purchase. Let me just say that this bag is absolutely amazing, especially when you consider that it retails for less than $35. Go hiking or drive to work or school. Very roomy with lots of pockets. My laptop is almost 16.5 inches and fits easily in a bag: I'd say there's about 1.25 inches of extra room for the corners of the laptop to fit in easily. The laptop compartment itself is 2.5 inches wide at the bottom so you can carry a laptop and a thin book or drawing pad, and there's a pocket for a tablet or thin monitor up to 11.5 x 15 inches or so. As for the rest of the bag, at the top of the carry handle there is a soft material hard shell pocket for sunglasses, another 5.5 inch deep wide compartment with a zipped pocket and a large pocket where you can add folders and the like and there is also one type - male USB cable for external connection. The other compartment has many small pockets including RFID slots, as well as a quick release key ring holder. On the front of the bag there is a small zipped compartment which also has a pocket. Finally, there are tall zipped pockets on the outside where you can store large water bottles or a collapsible umbrella - each side also has mesh pockets. Soft. The shoulder straps are very wide and very soft, making carrying a heavy bag a lot less painful. There is also a padded zippered pocket on the lower back of the bag that sits comfortably on your lower back. This is a very well made bag that pairs really well with more expensive bags and I highly recommend it. As a lightning deal, it cost half that of a comparable Swiss Gear bag and was easy to buy.
