We're serious campers. We have about 5.6. many tents for different conditions. We have smaller tents for boat camping or short trips, a few ultra light tents for hiking and a few large tents for car camping and longer stays. Plus our winter tent and my solo tent. in any case, we know the tents and have a lot of experience. When you start spending more on tents, you get lighter weight, more durability, usually more mesh, a rain cover included, and just well thought-out features. The $400 range seems optimal as we are starting to see diminishing returns. This tent is a worthy contender for our only tent. We are currently using a 6 person Kelty tent as our base camp camping tent. It offers height and space for our belongings and really makes us feel like we're in a little cabin far from home. This tent has pretty much everything we could ask for. The biggest problem is that the height is only 5 feet. I really appreciate having a tent to stand in as I get older. This one doesn't quite get there, which is a shame. I also wish it had a small awning in front of the porch without having to use a raincoat. Not many tents do this, but our previous one did and it was a feature we really liked. Ok finally on the cons: I wish the sides and one front door were a bit taller without the mesh for easier dressing inside the tent. That being said, this tent really delivers in many areas. It's incredibly easy to set up. This is a true 4 person tent as opposed to the usual BS rating system where you are supposed to sleep from head to toe. Perfect for a couple who love the room or have a child or a dog. The design of the tunnel tent is nice and reminds me a bit of the old REI kingdom tents which are an add on. It's relatively light and the materials are top-notch. Plenty of organizational pockets/hangers inside. A rain cover is included and has a vestibule to keep the rain out. The mesh is more elastic than most. We liked it so much we bought a comfort floor to keep the mattress topper in place, although we didn't have excessive slippage. Were big fans of this tent. Did I mention it was easy to set up? That!
