I bought this dispenser to replace the previous one which broke. I brought this due to the high ratings and when I received this dispenser I didn't know how to refill it. After figuring out how to add soap, I was immediately disillusioned with this design. For hand soap, you need to remove the top and then unscrew the tube to pour the soap into a very small hole. Due to the clumsy design, if you spill the soap, it lands in an area that doesn't match the design. You can't get extra soap in the hole and it just sits there. You can see the area I'm capturing in the picture. Why isn't it just a lapel? As for the sponge holder, I threw it away. Sponge backwash water can enter the sponge holder/dishwashing detergent container. This caused my soap to become watery and smelly. It ruined 3 of my sponges before realizing the smell was coming from the soap and not the sponge. In general, I threw them away, they are very difficult to fill, and the sponge holder turned out to be more biohazardous.
