Take accurate measurements, follow sizePerfect, especially for the not so perfect figure.

Quick delivery, well made, and flattering. I’m 5 ft. 2 in., 160 lbs. I usually wear a size 14/16 womens petite. I ordered the XXXL, the next size up, ybecause I knew I could take it in. Even though this dress fits loose like the authentic 20’s style, I may take it in a little at the side waist seam. I followed the size guidelines, by taking my measurements and comparing to the chart. I also read size comments, especially those reviews that included the buyers measurements, height, weight, and purchased size.Dress length was reviewer’s concern or complaint. The underdress hangs to my knees, and the fringe hangs to my ankles, which is another reason I bought a size larger After reading reviews, I noted several reviewers concern over uneven or shedding fringe. I am a former costume designer and tailor, so know two useful solutions for the natural slippage nature of fringe. First, if you can sew, stitch a narrow zigzag through the fringe band to catch the fringe so it won’t slip. Second, if you cannot sew, apply either liquid Fray Check, or clear or matching nail polish to the underside of the fringe band. Be sure to place cardboard under the fringe band to protect dress and surfaces, then straightening the fringe before application. Work in small sections, letting it soak in and dry for about 5 minutes before moving to the next section. After securing the fringe, hang on dress hanger for at least a day, after which can carefully snip uneven fringe strands. To prevent bead mishaps when wearing to danceor special events, I take a travel sewing case with match threads, wound around embroidery bobbins, a needle, a few pins, small safety pins, and notions. That being said, you can avoid bead mishaps by ordering the correct size for a looser fit to allow beading threads to stretch when sitting or bending. Sitting in uncovered folding metal chairs can snag fabrics and especially beads. I take a soft shawl with me to not only wear, but cover the chair and prevent snagging. This dress slips easily over the head, dipping into a V in front and back. To prevent straps from showing you may want to sew in strap guards, found in fabric shops or online.Be sure to keep the zip storage bag. Heavily beaded dresses keep their shape when kept in a bag, instead of hanging which stretched the garment and can snag beads and sequins. This dress is a winner for me, and a bargain.

Pros
  • Great dress for my nieces party. Loved how it fit
Cons
