This humidifier has many great aspects. It's the best to look at, the night light is a lovely blue color (albeit a little brighter - a dimmer would be nice), it's really quite quiet, the intensity control is easy to use and a full tank will do the trick. all night on medium high. I've tried an oil diffuser (which is what got me into it in the first place over the others) but it just gave me a headache. I may be using the wrong oils (I bought Eden's Garden 100% essential oils). I've only used warm mist humidifiers in the past, not out of preference, but simply because it suited my price range and aesthetic at the time. After using this humidifier, I know that I will buy a less beautiful but more effective warm mist humidifier when it wears out or when I need one for another room. This one puts out a lot of fog, but since it's not vapor, the fog falls to the ground instantly and doesn't extend beyond a 2 foot radius. It also soaks up any surface it's placed on when its settings are above average, so I always put it on a towel, which takes away from it some of its beauty. when you sleep you will feel its effects because it rains on you from the fog, but it will not reach the one who sleeps on the other side of the bed. I recommend purchasing a warm mist humidifier, which will disperse the moisture in the air throughout the room. If you like cool mist humidifiers, this humidifier is for you.
