Perhaps the best in its class, but it lacks features that may be important to some.

Bought to pass the time on vacation for our little one. For the most part he did an excellent job. Fixing at the highest level, quick and easy to install and very safe. The DVD playback system works great, but be aware that operating it from the front seat is not as convenient. Most of the kids movies have many warnings and previews that play before the DVD menu where you have to choose the movie. The remote control must be pointed upside down at the device and you cannot see the screen you are operating. This is not due to the device, although for this application a radio remote control would be better than an infrared remote control. SD/USB works very well. It plays XVID, not H.264, so I had to re-encode most of my new movies. If you put short cartoons in one folder, they will all play smoothly. Tip: Format the media to FAT32 with a cluster size of 32 KB or less. It remembers the position in the file/DVD where media playback was stopped; This applies when the device is off or when the car is off and the power is off. However, it does not remember the Power/Play state when the car is off. This means that when stopping to refuel, you must physically turn on the player after starting the car. Turns out my kid could reach and control the buttons on the front. It would be nice to have a small switch on the I/O side to turn them off (meaning only the remote will work). My son stopped playing several times and ended up throwing The Secret Life of Pets away and scratching the CD. As a reminder of the trip, we heard whining that the "hare" was "broken".
