It was a beautiful and stylish pouf. Easy to assemble; my kindergarten child helped. Aside from the decorative aspects of Piazza Ornavaux's woven velvet stool, the seat of the stool is too firm to be a worthy addition to our home. To gauge its firmness, I stood on it and balanced on one leg (not a difficult task, as the surface wasn't pliable enough to defy my middle age), and the velvety upper was barely crumpled. As I continued my exploration, I gingerly felt my way between the stuffed velvet cords and felt only solid wood underneath, not the foam I'd come to expect from a pouf. If you value function over form, I would look elsewhere for a stool.
