Review on PEGASUS SwissGear Wenger Computer Backpack by Janet Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Solid, classic value.

I've been using this SwissGear Pegasus almost every day since I bought it in July 2008 - I use it at work, at school and even on vacation. My wife calls it my "man's handbag". :) Unlike several other laptop book bags I've tried, this one has a better overall design in terms of pockets, separate internal compartments, and can even easily carry two different laptops at the same time. I can carry around a tool kit, a 50 CDR and DVDR spindle, a set of hard plastic double CD/DVD cases with various working images and utilities, and a 3.5 inch shockproof hard drive. Packaging, a couple of CAT6 and USB cables, Lenovo and MacBook Pro power adapters, a couple of thumb drives, a portable label printer, a supply of low-carb energy bars, a few stationery supplies, and the occasional book. Then two 15 inch hard drives. laptops. Sure, it's heavy and a little tight, but this bag can *hold* it! The padded straps work well. The stitching used throughout has definitely proven strong enough for me in almost four years of daily use - even with an extra laptop in the last six months. Due to a bike accident many moons ago, I only carry the bag on one shoulder and am impressed that the single strap shows no signs of excessive wear. I looked at other competing products and was pleasantly surprised that this "old" SwissGear model not only stays on the market, but is one of the most popular laptop bags - even compared to much newer and more expensive ones. If this bag has _any_ potential downside, to me it's the lack of a waterproof bottom - don't place it on a wet/damp surface. Nylon material has the ability to absorb moisture from the floor. Considering the price, I'm very happy with this product and would have no hesitation in recommending it for work or school (or both!).
