I am renting a house that had a very unusual smell permeating the room. A lingering canine odor was palpable in one room, and it was so strong it was impossible to breathe. I've tried everything: steamed the wood, vacuumed with an odor neutralizer, left the window open. Nothing helped, probably because of the high vaulted ceilings. Odor or reduced so much that I can hardly smell it. There is no smell in the room - as it should be. I set up another one in the front room which is much smaller and it seemed to get the job done in just a few hours. So far so good, but you're wondering. : then why remove the asterisk? First, there is no smell of it anywhere. Good or bad depending on who you are but I name it and secondly removing the inner foam is too messy. A smarter solution would be to use some sort of tab that allows you to pull it out.
