Dimensions: If you look at the cube on the shelf with the handle facing you, you'll see that the cubes are 9 inches high from top to bottom, 11 inches from the front and 10 inches long from the front to the The back. They are perfect for a 12" deep shelf. These storage baskets are perfect for what I wanted to use them for. I currently use them to store Wii game system accessories, outdoor accessories like scarves and gloves, lunch linens and school supplies. These cubes fit fits perfectly on my shelves and now the jumble of items looks neat and tidy. I've added decorative tags to the handles so each child knows which cube is theirs and what's inside. It works fantastic! Handles, another reviewer said, that the handles aren't very strong and I agree they aren't.I don't think these cubes are intended for storing heavy items like books.If you're buying them to store cookbooks or magazines then my only suggestion is to carry the cube from the bottom instead of by the handles, the handles appear to be intended more as a drawer than for carrying the cube. This suits my purpose well as my dice are not carried around or moved. You will use dice to carry items from one room to another. I would suggest a more durable canvas cube or even plastic. Not this one. All in all I'm very happy for the money. The dice are a good size and come in a pack of 6. If you are mindful of the weight of what you store in cubes, I think these cubes will do the job for you. I just added another order for her to my cart. :)
