Great for running outdoors, good sound quality

I like to run outdoors 3 or 4 times a week and have tried quite a few different types of headsets. Some fit in the ear and cut out all external noise, while others are more like earbuds that still allow me to hear some of what's going on around me. They all fit in their own way and promise to stay in place as you run. I've had mixed success. These headphones do something really unique and if you can get past their very mediocre sound quality you can open your ears to everything around you, listen to music and not worry at all about fit or comfort. They're made very cheaply, so you need to understand what's going on. The manufacturer seems to be making a lot of claims that I can't tell if they're true. However, they appear to be functional and well constructed. The strap that sits behind your head, which is actually like flexible plastic, is very flexible and long enough to fit a variety of heads. I'm a fairly small guy with a fairly small head and they fit really well and have room for my ponytail or whatever headband I can wear at the same time. They just lie around and in front of your ears. They don't go behind the ear and don't go in. They are essentially tiny speakers that direct sound towards your ear. It takes a little time to figure out exactly where to sit, but I find them insanely comfortable. There's no pressure, almost no weight, and it definitely stays in place with no extra hooks or clips. They simply wrap around your ear and have enough weight in the front and back to stay where they need to be. I had no trouble pairing them. They have the same three-button controls that almost all wireless earbuds have these days. It's a little strange that the controls are on the back of the right module, which sits behind the ear, but once you get used to it you'll be able to use it. This is not bone conduction so don't expect that kind of experience. You won't get great sound quality from them due to the fact that they are placed in front of your ears and direct the sound towards your ears. There is no bass. In most cases, it probably sounds like the sound coming out of your phone's speaker (and most people agree with that these days). I have found that my ears "adjust" to the sound quality, which is a unique experience. But they change my life. The nice thing is that they keep your ears fully open so I can hear not only the movement around me but everything else that's going on. You'll hear the sounds of cars, doors, horns, dogs, and people talking, increasing your personal safety, but you can still listen to music. I like to hear a car approaching from behind, or if someone else is following you, you can hear them approaching. You don't even have to take them off or stop the music to talk to someone else. Interestingly, I don't think they have insane audio leaks, so I don't even think anyone can hear my music. This also makes them interesting for use in the home. You can easily watch something on your phone or other device and join the conversation at the same time. And I have to say again: They are incredibly comfortable. They don't bother me at all when running. I don't feel like I ever need to tweak them, and I don't feel like they're out of order. In general I am satisfied with them. While the sound quality isn't great, they do exactly what they set out to do. I will never go running without her.
