I like this design. I have been using this type of drain filter for many years. This latest batch appears to be noticeably thinner plastic than the previous one. I managed to pierce the butt trying to pull my hair out after showering which was never a problem before. Older versions lasted for years and were eventually thrown away when our hard water discolored them or when mold stains couldn't be removed. In less than a year I went through 2 of them due to random holes. Don't know if it's quality control or cost cutting, but I prefer the more durable old style. I will not buy again. Well all three bought in February this year have now been discarded due to holes in the floor when we brushed their hair out. I bought a replacement from a chain store in Arkansas and it is noticeably thicker for a significantly lower unit price.
