I bought this in February and have been using it for a month and a half. These tonics work great. There are no leaks, color is accurate, color levels are recorded accurately. I was looking for solutions to inking it myself. These solutions required a lot of work and frankly cost more money. Thought I'd try these first. So glad I did. I didn't have to do anything with the chip. I think it has to do with making sure (if original HP cartridges are still in the printer) that you have set the 'Very Low' setting to 'Continue' for black and color cartridges. You can do this using the Settings app on your PC or on the printer's display. If you are considering using non-OEM replacement parts, do so now. I didn't let my cartridge run completely dry either. I just let him come to where he disappeared. I will buy them in the future - you save so much money compared to OEM products.
