These solid beauties are just what I was looking for. My husband broke my favorite all-purpose bowl, about the same size but rectangular, which I've used for everything from marinating to mixing, microwaving, serving, and eating (salads, pasta, even multi-ingredient meat and vegetable dishes). He made me look for it for two days while muttering that a plate that size couldn't be lost - at least not in a kitchen in a small apartment. Finally, at the end of my second frustrating and unsuccessful search of the shelves, he admitted that he had dropped it and thrown away the compromising parts. Okay, he's a little scared of me. But damn, he should be because he breaks a lot of things. To his credit he washes the dishes; I could name and shame a few husbands who don't. But now he also boasts about breaking the cup, because otherwise I would never have researched and discovered these simply wonderful substitutes. Since they came in a set of two, he also has one of his own before breaking it. As mentioned, they are the perfect substitute for dinner plates - same size but better filled with sauces. We eat a lot in bed while we watch TV. And now of course I gave you the TMI road when I just had to say these bowls are the best. because of the precarious situation of my spatially unstable husband. But tonight I dropped my guard and he broke it. Not one, both. From the rumble in the kitchen followed by his swearing, I knew it would make a world of difference. You don't need to think twice about ordering them again, this time on his menu.
