I got the duvet because my daughter had a favorite duvet that she always wanted and it was difficult to get her to wash. This one is very soft, just like the other one when it was brand new. After washing, the second became dull and felt rougher. This holds up well to regular washing with other garments. The pink fluffy side will soften a bit over time but still far better than most baby blankets, especially in this price range. The printed side is super silky soft and will look and feel brand new even after a few washes like day one!
