Excellent quality bag

I bought this bag to refresh my neoprene bag that I have had for many years. I am very happy with this bag and glad I made the switch. The material is thick cotton fabric and is the same weight as a military duffel bag or restaurant quality apron. The pattern is very beautiful medium gray with flowers. The color is almost the same as the photos above. The seams are tight, the tailoring is of high quality. An expensive job that will soon unravel. It has both a front and a back pocket. The front pocket is 6.5 inches in diameter and about 5.75 inches inside. Both pockets are large enough to fit comfortably in my hand and leave room for my fingers to spread. The front pocket closes with a hidden magnetic clasp, which was a pleasant surprise. It's great that the top of the bag doesn't stretch or sag with use. The back pocket closes with a zipper, which again is of good quality. The zipper head is metal with thick plastic teeth. The hand straps are thick and durable. They are sewn directly to the bottom of the bag and about 1 inch above the opening of the bags. These straps are just long enough for me to comfortably slip my arm in and hold it on my shoulder. The length of the strap from the stop of the seam attaching it to the bag to the top of the strap when pulled straight up is 12 inches. That's probably enough for most people to use these hand straps as shoulder straps. .The shoulder straps are made of the same thick cotton as the wrist strap. They are attached to each side of the bag with thick metal clips. The clip mechanism is spring loaded and will not open accidentally. The clip is attached to a swivel that is attached to the strap with a rectangular metal ring. This type of attachment allows the strap to move freely and is less likely to twist. Again, like everything else, the metal hardware is very well made. , high quality, not cheap and not flimsy. The shoulder strap measures 24 inches at its shortest point and 48 inches at its longest point. the zipper wasn't sewn on the upper edge of the bag, but on the two inner flaps. They are located slightly below the top of the bag, about 1.5 inches down. The zipper is gray and goes well with the bag. The top zipper opens all the way and runs 5 inches too long. This allows the bag to open fully and gives you full access to the inside. The extra length also makes it easier to close by holding the zipper up as you close. The two flaps with the attached zipper are approximately 1 inch shorter than the length of the bag. This creates a small gap at the end of each zipper. the screen is like the outside, the liner is stitched at the bottom of the bag which prevents it from moving around in the bag, it moves a little more but you can't pull it out, and it's pretty stable, the row of stitching on the bottom makes one big difference. There is a group of pockets on one side. Two for pens, a wider pocket and a column with credit card slots. The top pocket in the credit card column is deep and wide enough for my phone. A divider runs down the middle of the bag, separating a laptop or other device from other items. Both sides of the laptop compartment are thinly lined for protection. There is a velcro closure at the top. The tongue is made of nylon and is not flexible. It was better to make this strip out of an elastic belt so it can stretch. My laptop has a 17.3 inch screen that measures 16 inches (width) x 10.5 inches (depth). It is very difficult to close this strap and keep the laptop from moving. It can close if I slide the laptop all the way in, but that takes some effort and isn't ideal. With your device inside, the other half of the bag offers enough space for a charger, cables, maybe a book or whatever else you need to take with you. It seems to be written somewhere that this bag is waterproof/resistant. There is no lining inside the bag and the outer shell is made of cotton. Unless the shell has been treated with some kind of repellent I don't see how it can be waterproof. However, I haven't tested it, so I could be wrong. Overall the bag is fantastic and I'm very glad I chose it. There's nothing cheap about it, and no shortcuts were used in its creation. Even the plastic it's made from feels thick and velvety to the touch. The packaging doesn't really matter, but I think it speaks volumes about the overall quality. So, with the exception of the nylon closure and the lack of waterproofing, I can't say anything bad about this bag. I am very impressed with the brand and the choice of components used. This is a great purchase and I expect it to last a very long time.
