I purchased this product (from the Marines) for moderate to severe back pain. The current mattress I have is still good but my back was getting worse every year and I needed some relief as it took me longer and longer each morning to get a little bit of energy before I was fully mobile. I used to sleep on memory foam mattresses and toppers. They were ok but nothing that would have made me buy a similar product. Another colleague (also a former Marine) stated that since purchasing the TEMPUR-Topper Supreme, his back pain (in the mornings) has almost gone away. After speaking to him I did a quick search and found a price on Revain that was too good to pass up (on other sites including TEMPUR-PEDIC this price was $399 - queen size) , so I gritted my teeth and bought it with the ability to return it if it doesn't meet the requirements. So packed in 3 separate boxes. The original, another next to it, and then a Revain shipping box. No damage or shipping problems. It arrived 2 days after ordering (Prime). Opening and unpacking went without any problems, the mattress pad was without any discrepancies (tears, stains, etc.). no smell I've come across the new memory foam before and this topper didn't have a strong odor at all. I've also given it time to stretch and air out (it comes wrapped/rolled). A few hours later I put him on the bed. My current mattress is a little thicker than usual (a plush hybrid), so I use deep pocket sheets. I wasn't sure if the extra 3 inches of memory foam would be an issue with the sizing and fit of the sheets. Even if it's a bit tight, everything still fits and the sheets stayed down/didn't roll up at night. I gave this product 4 stars out of 5 because this topper still sleeps a little hot (if I could give it a 4.5 I would). Not hot, or where you get sweaty is hot, but a little warm. That's the best description. Not hot but warm. Anyway, I usually warm up, so that bothered me, but the back pain got better, so I decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did. I wouldn't say it took away ALL my back pain, but getting up in the morning was about 85% easier and with less hassle/pain than before. For me this is a big plus and confirms that this is a good buy. If they had a product that stayed cool or generated no heat at all I would easily give it 5 stars. I would recommend this product to others looking to relieve pain of any kind (neck, back, hips, etc.). .) that they may have while sleeping or those who just want to upgrade their current mattress with an updated fit/feel. to say that it has helped relieve the aches and pains I was having every morning before I bought it. I've also changed my rating from 4 stars to 5 as the topper doesn't sleep as warmly as it originally did. Not sure if it's because my body gets used to the topper and regulates its internal temperature, the topper ventilates after a few weeks of use and improves blood flow through the material, or a little bit of both. Anyway, I look forward to every night when I go to bed and enjoy a good night's sleep. I will continue to recommend this product with the same endorsement I gave above.
