I love this little heating pad. First I melted a wax cube as a test. It took 30 minutes to fully melt, but the scent spread quickly and lasted for several days. Then I tried an 8 ounce candle. It took 1 1/2 hours for the wax to melt significantly, although within 10 minutes the smell started to spread. At first I thought the wax sheet just wasn't heating up or wasn't strong enough. I've found that slower melt times and lower temperatures are actually better as your wax/flavor lasts longer and doesn't boil or burn. Be patient! It works and is much safer than a burning candle. Definitely order again. I make candles as a hobby and it saves me time and effort. This heater is ideal for a B&BW 3 wick (15 oz., 3 3/4 inch diameter) jar.
