I really don't think it will do anything. It is designed for a decorative holder, sold separately. It removes a small amount of water and I don't notice any odor at all. I was hoping it would work in my small basement or when it didn't work I tried the stairs down to the basement. I think it might work well enough in a bathroom or a small space. I have a holder so I'll probably buy it again just because I have it. Then you probably put it in the bathroom or toilet. I'll try to steam the "big room" for the basement.
