I love these pants and have had 5 pairs of these for over ten years, I use them for very heavy construction work, roofing, rock crawling, and the same pair cleans for clothes . Maybe only blackberries and sharp tools worry them. I cut out a mobile phone insert from several of these pants and sewed in a large microfiber pocket. Not a fun design, but this way it's very safe and easy to use. My OnePlus 6t phone in a Spigen case, 6-1/2 inches tall, 3-1/4 inches wide, medium sized these days. It protrudes about 3/4 inch from the cell pocket. A lot of people probably like it, but I want to be able to shut it down if I need extra security. On my first day in these new pants, the phone fell to the floor with a surprisingly loud crack as I got out of the closet (it survived). I might try Velcro on this last pair.
