To be honest I was a bit skeptical when deciding to order this as there was only one review at the time. We decided to give it a try because we really liked the size and the variety of features it offered, and I'm so glad we did. Our kittens still have to get used to it, but they use it more and more every day. I wanted a large scratching post and read the measurements when we ordered it, but it seems a lot bigger than you would expect. I would definitely recommend assembling it in the room you intend to keep it in as it was a hassle going through doors. However, it was easy to assemble and I think it's very durable and well made. I also liked that it has a strap to attach to the wall if you want, but we didn't feel it was necessary with kittens as small as they are now and with a tree in the corner of the room. This is the first scratching post we have so I can't compare it to other brands but I'm happy with it. The carpet material doesn't shed as much as I feared and I didn't really notice the little lint until I put it together. Nobody moved in the room, so that's a plus. Another feature that kitties love is the little balls hanging from the platform beds. They have an elastic cord for the kittens to pull on and it stretches and shoots backwards which drives them crazy. There is also a bell on each ball, so the kittens were very happy about it. I was happy to see that the balls are easily attached to a small loop and that they can be easily removed or replaced if they become damaged or just become too annoying. more posts covered. One of our kitties loves to scratch and stretch, but the sisal doesn't stick up high enough on either post for a good stretch. She still likes it, so maybe it will keep her from destroying the tree too quickly. All in all it's great. If you are looking for an inexpensive large scratching post, this is a good choice.
