If between sizes, go one size up!
My friend got this blue swimsuit in SZ Medium (second picture), I needed it too. I ordered it in burgundy in a large size but I really feel like the size is no different from the light blue and this red! Both feel secure and feel premium! I highly recommend this costume! I'm 5'5 and 140 lbs. I have a large size in red, light blue - medium!
