This is an extra large pocket. The strap consists of a series of braided ropes connected by the black details you see in the front image. Plenty of room inside but no inside pockets. All pockets on the ends and on the front of the bag. My biggest criticism of this bag is that it's made from a pliable cotton blend that instantly attracts everything (lint, fur, dust, etc.) and in less than a day this bag was looking dirty (and it's black!). The bag is very flexible and this material does not allow it to keep any shape. This causes whatever you put in it to fall squarely in the middle, causing the bag to sag.
