I bought this for a recent camping trip. Since we are in Florida I figured any movement of air would be better than nothing at night. I also wanted a light in the tent since I have a toddler and 1 year old. The light is great. There were different brightness settings so I was able to leave it low on all night. The fan also has different settings and the highest setting is pretty fierce for such a tiny fan. I left it on low light, high fan over night. At some point the battery died over night so I can't speak to the battery life. I'm sure most people wouldn't have the light on overnight.
