You have to work very little.
We ordered a size 2 for my daughter who normally wears a size 1 because I wanted to grow up wearing them, but they were too small and didn't fit her at all.
We ended up giving them to our youngest daughter so it worked. But maybe buy a size bigger than you think you need?
