Bar itself 18 "
I bought this bar to match the other bars in my closet. I was very excited when I was able to find the same style, we measured the space we needed the bar and it was 18". This bar is 18" so the brackets add a little more room. We can't use it because it's too long. I wish that Total size with the brackets would be 18" not just the pole. Hopefully my husband can cut off about 1/8" so it can be used!
