I was very hesitant about this purchase. It looks so cute but I was worried how much my cat would love it and how easy it would be to put her down every time we were ready to head out the door, especially with some of these other totes I have looked at zippers and pockets with many. I was also concerned about taking it to the plane/airport. Overall I am very happy with this purchase! In fact, she likes it a lot because she can see everything and is very close to us, which is nice. She doesn't usually climb up herself since we have to close everything at once, but she'll never fight back if we put her there. The only downside is that unfortunately it gets a little hot and stuffy in there on very hot days, but sometimes a lunch cooler seems to fix the problem. She did a great job with this backpack both at the airport and on adventures with us. The side pocket is good for snacks and stuff, and the small opening on the other side is nice for reaching and petting her when she's nervous (like flying on an airplane). Not to mention she's the most popular item wherever we go with all the backpacking comments. Overall I would recommend it!
