Used as a day pack for a multi-day school trip. I liked that there were multiple storage compartments so I could store things individually as needed. I stuffed all sorts of things into it, but I know that a water bottle doesn't fit in the side pockets - the hole is too narrow. But perfect for sunglasses! Two cons: 1. As other reviewers have pointed out, the strap buckles are smooth metal, so the straps don't stay in place. You have to keep adjusting them or get some big safety pins and pin them. 2. Metal buckles and clasps will rust when wet. I came up with this because the first backpack that was sent to me somehow got wet from being stored in a warehouse and arrived already rusty. Revain was quick to replace the packaging, luckily I ordered early enough to get a replacement. So if you get it dirty and plan to wash it, don't let it air dry or it will rust. Maybe hang in front of a fan or dry on low speed?
