This is a great concept but I don't know if it lives up to the expectations described. As mentioned, it's very light, but if it falls I don't know how much extra protection it would be. I was about to return as as soon as I received it I felt like it wasn't what I expected but my daughter loved the color of her new tablet and didn't want to deal with the hassle of returning it so we will see. I hope I don't have to find out that he wasn't protecting him. But if you're buying a tablet for someone under the age of 10, who can be a little clunky, this definitely isn't the case.
