Waterproof but soft
I don't know how waterproof it is but it is. It's so thin and comfortable. I don't even use a mattress topper. It's a very soft material and doesn't feel waterproof. It's uncrumpled, hard and doesn't look like plastic. It feels like a tight web. It's very easy. I wash it often and it holds up well. It stains but doesn't allow all liquids to get onto the mattress (important for children). My mattress looks like new under this cover.
