I recently bought a Manfrotto stabilizer (renamed Feiyu AK4500) for my Blackmagic Pocket 4K. Anyone who uses Blackmagic knows the notorious short battery life. To counter this I bought a Sony NP-F battery plate to connect to the camera so I don't have to remove the camera from the gimbal to change the batteries. The problem is where to mount the battery plate? There is a 1/4-20 screw on the bottom as well as a safety pin to prevent rotation. There are only two separate holes on the sides of the gimbal extension that you can attach it to, unless you want to mount it to a camera where you have button blocking or find you need counterweights. Is there a problem with the extension cord? The distance between the screw and the pin is narrower than the thickness of the extension itself. All I needed was a tiny cheese board that I could screw onto that attachment point and then attach the battery plate to the side without emptying my wallet. Do not be afraid! SmallRig has pretty much everything you could want! This little cheese board was just what I needed. And he came right on time for the shoot the next day! Yes, I chose Tilta for my camera cage and accessories, but SmallRig has all my eccentric connectors! Affordable and well made, they will continue to be my go-to when looking for those little oddities.
