This was purchased to be installed over a limestone fireplace front if cables are behind the The stone fireplace is laid through the wall and through it. We installed a hydraulically lifting TV mount on the outside and above the cabinet, so we needed a way for the wires and cables to run smoothly and retract back into the wall every time we move the mount. The attachment itself causes the cord to move about 24 inches each time it is moved across the mantle. This wall plate allows for smooth cable slide out and easy storage.
