Reliable RAM for the price, with caveats

Bought this kit to build my nephew an RGB computer. The system is based on a Ryzen 5 3400G processor with an Asrock B550 motherboard. The best I could get with this kit is DDR4-3366, it's been a minute since I built this system but I think I was able to reduce some sub timings at this speed but nothing significant. I can't fault it. OLOY for not reaching DDR4-3600 as this CPU is based on Zen+ (Ryzen 2 series) which is very picky about RAM so most modules I've ever tried on Zen+ don't perform at their rated speeds. I can only blame RAM manufacturers in general for not listing recommended speeds for Zen+ chips. But otherwise they are robust and reliable modules. The RGB lighting on them looks decent and bright enough. The kit I received came with Samsung C die chips. up to DDR-3066 even after a few hours of setup. So take it as you will, I don't find C-die that bad, but it's definitely not a miracle chip in my experience. I've been building PCs for over 25 years and have found this kit to be great value. The best deal on a DDR4 3600 RGB kit I could find and it met my expectations.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to remember, but it was
