I read all the reviews that it doesn't work with MacBook Pro. But I figured I was smarter than these guys, so I ordered it. When the scanner arrived I downloaded the Mac drivers and software from the Canon website, installed and set it up. I could see it in "Printers and Scanners" and the IJ Scan utility worked too. So I threw the photo on the bed and hit the scan button. Nothing. I restarted and tried again. Nothing. I deleted the apps and started fresh. On the software side everything looked fine. Still nothing when I actually tried to scan something. No sound, no movement, nothing. So I started to collect it for the return to Revain. That's when I noticed that the "roadblock" on the bottom of the scanner was still busy. It actually took some effort to unlock. I reconnected the scanner to my MacBook Pro and BINGO! Works like a champ. Anyhow, I sincerely think this might have been a problem for a lot of people who couldn't get it to work with their Mac. The locking mechanism on the bottom is easy to miss, and the scanning software doesn't display any error messages about the scanner being locked.
